Not a court or government office. This resource cannot obtain a docket, set or reset a hearing, seal a record, issue a certified copy, take a payment, or provide legal advice. Those actions belong to the court or clerk with custody of the matter.
Need an Official Docket or Record?
Start with the route that fits the question. The eCourts Portal is the public online entry point for current public case and hearing information. The Forsyth Clerk of Superior Court is the local records custodian for case files and official copies.
- Public case activity: use the Forsyth case lookup route, then open the Case Summary.
- A current hearing: use court dates and Portal Search Hearings, then verify close to the setting.
- A certified or specific document: request it from the Forsyth Clerk and identify the record number and copy type.
- Criminal or civil docket context: use criminal docket search or civil docket search.
- A city administrative record: contact the relevant town or city, not the clerk, unless the item is a state court case.
For Forsyth County court records, the primary public location is Forsyth Clerk of Superior Court, 175 N. Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, telephone 336-779-6300. The courthouse lists clerk window hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; confirm hours and the correct department before a visit through the official contact directory.
The Portal is not an official court record. If a request concerns an AOC administrative document rather than an individual Forsyth case file, use the AOC public-record request route instead. The agency that holds the record is the agency that can respond to the request.
